Condition: Creasing, pale foxing, staining along the top edge from making tape on the reverse, vertical fold at center left with a small tear at the bottom edge, small tears along the top edge, indistinct watermark. Provenance: A Connecticut estate. N.B. The subject of this drawing is thought to draw upon the Book of Samuel (1 Samuel 25) in which Abigail offered food and drink to David, after his request for sustenance had been rebuffed by her husband Nabal.
