Cokely, Fair Oak, 18 June 1862, five-page autograph letter, he received orders to reinforce Casey's division, but got stuck in the mud of the Chickahominy and missed much of the action, he speaks of working through the night to move a cannon out of the mud, across the river, and into position to fire the next morning, he concludes by describing walking the battlefield the following morning and "awful site there was the dead and wounded piled up like slaughtered hogs," 8 x 5 in.
