Zustandsbericht:
Guter Gesamteindruck. Schwache Frühschwundrisse, Keilrahmen leicht nach recto durchdrückend, u.r. punktuell winzige Retuschen (ca. 1 bis 3 mm).

Oil on canvas. Signed lower right and dated 1897. Verso on the stretcher inscribed presumably by a different hand «Othello» as well as «Trakehner» and numbered «5289».

Emil Volkers is known for his finely painted and technically virtuoso documentary portraits of horses.

Condition report:
Good overall impression. Faint white shrinking cracks, stretcher slightly pushing through to recto, isolated tiny spots of retouching (approx. 1 to 3 mm) lower right.
