ca 1855-1870. Buff leather frog, smooth bridle leather scabbard, brass tip. 17.75" bayonet is an 1816 converted to an 1842 complete with locking ring. Second bayonet with 18.25" cruciform blade. Light stamp on shoulder of bayonet 1294. Provenance: Ex Pete and Jackie Kersten Collection Condition: Bayonet scabbard is near mint condition, with just a few nominal scuffs on the body. Bayonet has been lightly cleaned and shows light salt and pepper pitting on blade and socket. Second bayonet with grey metal, no pitting and lightly polished. Overall it is in excellent condition.
