Beschreibung:

One of the pioneers of the two-stroke motorcycle, Levis commenced manufacture of their 211cc, single-gear lightweight in 1911. Soon dubbed ‘Popular’, the model was a huge success for the Birmingham marque, remaining in production until 1926. This lightweight Levis comes with a letter from VMCC Librarian Annice Collett revealing that engine number ‘6389’ is that of a 247cc G2 KS which left the factory on 14th February 1921 for delivery to Godfreys Ltd, of London, while frame number ‘8764’ is that of a 211cc Model S despatched on 19th July 1921 destined for Edwin Cotteril & Co Ltd, of Birmingham. Of unknown history up to 2001, the machine was used and shown regularly between that date and 2003, since when it has been stored. First registered ‘NN 443’, it comes with old-style continuation logbook (1925) and Swansea V5.
