1935 Tony Lazzeri Signed New York Yankees Player's Contract In 1926, as a rookie Lazzeri quickly secured his spot on the Yankees' Murderer's Row by smacking 18 homeruns and driving in 114 runs, unheard of numbers for any second baseman not named Rogers Hornsby. For the next 11 seasons, Lazzeri averaged 79 runs, 14 home runs, 96 RBI and 12 stolen bases including seven seasons with over 100 RBI and five seasons batting .300 or higher. During this time the Yankees won six American League pennants and five World Series championships.
