Beschreibung:

1949 TRIUMPH 2000 ROADSTER Registration No. KXN 88 Chassis No. TRA 1981 Engine No. TRA 1983 E Burgundy with red interior Engine; four cylinder, overhead valve, 68hp at 4,200rpm; Gearbox; three speed manual fully synchronized; Brakes; four wheel drum; Suspension; front, independent coil spring, rear, semi-elliptic leaf springs. Right hand drive. In 1949 Triumph's 1800 series evolved into the 2000 saloon and roadster with an enlarged engine. Instead of a four speed gearbox, the 2000 used a three speed, but fully synchronized. Suspension changed to coil spring and anti-roll bar instead of transverse leaf spring. The roadster 2000 lasted only a single season and a total of 2000 were produced in 1948/9. This roadster has undergone a chassis off restoration in recent years and only requires a new hood and the assembly of the hood mechanism (recently rechromed and with a complete set of woods) to complete the restoration. Invoices and bills amounting to the region of #4500 are available for inspection as well as photographs of the bare chassis. Included in the restoration was all the bodywork, new ash frame, complete engine rebuild, rewiring, rechroming and new upholstery. The dashboard has been reveneered and this example is one of the best we have had the pleasure of offering. The Triumph Roadster enjoys a good following in the UK and there is a thriving Triumph Roadster owners club. Much of the recent popularity is perhaps due to the exploits and spirited driving by Jim Bergerac in the television series and this example is appropriately painted the same colour. It comes with a current MoT test certificate.
