1951 Festival of Britain. We are pleased to offer one person's considerable collection of memorabilia comprising a large number of programmes and pamphlets associated with the Festival to include Jack Solomon's Carnival of Champions, Pleasure Garden guide, South Bank Exhibition, the catalogue of exhibits, an exhibition of books, and films, the Regency Exhibition at the Royal Pavilion, Brighton, the Exhibition of Science, of Industrial Power, of Music Societies, of the Pleasure Gardens, Sculpture in Battersea Park, Leeds Festival, a catalogue of exhibition heraldry, a photograph album of London sights including the Thames lit up, newspapers including The Daily Graphic, The Daily Mail and The Times each dedicated to the Festival, magazines including Everybody's, The Sphere and The Queen and a phenomenal group of six ring-binders that combine an impressive display of further items superbly presented in an imaginative way including bus tickets, many post cards, programmes, personal photographs taken by Cyril Aston, many stamps, many First Day Covers, "What's on Today" the official programme of the Festival Pleasure Gardens in Battersea Park for each month May to October and the Football programme for England v Argentina 9 May 1951 at the Empire Stadium, Wembley, an official programme of the Hayes Football Club dated Monday, May 14th 1951 featuring Hayes v La Gantoise, programmes for the Fulham Football Club v Dynamo Thursday, May 10th 1951, Chelsea Football Club programme v Floriana 8th May 1951, England v France October 3, 1951 at Arsenal Stadium, and so much more, along with a selection of artefacts commemorating the occasion to include lapel badges, a pair of silver cufflinks, crowns, caddy spoons, a cottage teapot, a tea caddy, postcards including one for Wild Goose the Far Tottering and Oyster Creek Railway an invention of Rowland Emett pocket watches etc.
