Title: 1951 Ryder Cup Banquet Program, Honoring Ryder Cup Teams of the United States and Great Britain [played at Pinehurst, North Carolina, November 2-4] Author: Tufts, Richard S., et al. Place: New York Publisher: Ryder Cup / PGA Date: 1951 Description: [8] pp. Illustrated with a photo on inside rear cover. Includes officers names, menu and Ryder Cup Match results from 1927 to 1949. Covers measure 11x8; text block: 10x7¾. Pictorial cream-tan wrappers, front embossed with gold lettering and red and blue colored U.S. & U.K. flags over the Ryder Cup trophy. Signed by the whole American team (except Hogan) plus additional autographs all on one page, which faces the Guests of Honor. With 15 total autographs: 9 of the 10 American team members: Sam Snead, Lloyd Mangrum, Jack Burke Jr., Jimmy Demaret, Ed Parks Oliver, E.J. “Dutch” Harrison, Henry Ransom, Clayton Heafner and Skip Alexander. Plus, golf great Horton Smith (PGA Secretary), CBS golf reporter John Derr, Thomas McMahon (President, Chicago District Golf Assoc.). Also, signed “Joe DiMaggio” but apparently not actually signed by Jolting Joe himself. Plus, 2 others (one of which reads Larry “Yogi” Barrey, not to be confused with baseball Hall of Famer “Yogi” Berra). * Also, includes the official 1951 Ryder Cup official program book: The Book of Golf: On the Occasion of the Ninth Biennial British-American Ryder Cup Golf Matches, Pinehurst, N.C., 1951, red cloth (D&M 29740 and D&J P26740). Together, 2 items. Lot Amendments Condition: Light rubbing and edge wear to program; occasional finger-soiling and a few mild tan stains to banquet menu, other slight wear; else near fine Item number: 178872
