Originally bought in 1996, this Oldsmobile 98 convertible is the most recent restoration in the Lewis collection, and has received a ground-up treatment. The Series 98 convertible was the most expensive model in the 1953 lineup, costing $2,963 and only outshone by the limited production Fiesta and Starfire show car. This convertible features power steering, power windows and power brakes and is powered by the 303 cubic-inch V8 developing 165 horsepower and driving through a 3-speed automatic transmission and dual exhausts. This was the first year for Oldsmobile to use a 12-volt system, which significantly improved cold-weather starting. This is an extremely sound original car, which indicates 73,903 miles. Subject to a lengthy restoration, it appears to have received a ground-up overhaul with a complete mechanical rebuild, repaint in white enamel, completely rewiring and has been reupholstered in blue and white leather. The power top has also been replaced and the chrome has been re-plated, where required. The car sits on brand new tires. Without reserve
