It was soon to become an amazing success story and the start of an incredible line of Jaguar sports cars with a distinguished competition history, winning five times at Le Mans. Its appearance at the 1948 Motor Show was met with hundreds of people clamouring to own one of the most seductive and rapid cars of the era. This car is believed to be 95 complete, but is in need of total restoration. It was imported from America in 1989 and there is the appropriate C&E386 form showing that no duties are payable if the car is to be registered in an EEC country. The engine has not been run while in England, but it is believed to be original. The front windscreen is missing as well as the headlamps, horn push and rear number plate holder.
