Beschreibung:

First seen in 1938, the BSA Gold Star was progressively developed both by the factory and by the enthusiastic amateur, although factory options catered for most needs. Scrambler Bill Nicholson had significant input into major frame developments in 1952 with the introduction of the new Duplex frame, a notable improvement which took the ‘Goldie’ to the end of its production run in 1962. This machine, in rare, original race trim, was supplied new on 27th August 1955 to Geoff Duke of St. Helens, Lancashire. Its racing history is unknown but the bike is well equipped with alloy racing tanks, Lucas TT magneto, Amal GP1 carburettor, period racing seat, rev counter and Avon GP tyres. It is described as being in very good condition generally and has been unused since restoration in c.2000. The vendor points out that although in racing trim this bike could easily be used on the road. It comes with V.M.C.C. and Gold Star Owner’s Dating Certificates.
