Although less powerful than the 500cc variant, the 350cc 'Junior' Goldie was nevertheless a 100mph-plus machine, and today is rarer than its larger sibling, production having ceased in 1962, some 12 months in advance of the 500. This 350cc Gold Star has been fitted with a frame dating from circa 1960 and a BSA B31-type 'round badge' fuel tank, the latter painted silver and fitted with a 'Monza' filler cap. The machine's specification includes the famous 190mm front brake, RRT2 close-ratio gearbox, Dunlop alloy wheel rims, Triumph clutch, JG 12-volt electrics conversion and an all-steel rear brake drum (the original alloy hub is available). Restored in 1982, the machine was acquired by the present owner on January 15th the following year and used for daily commuting until June 1991, since when it has been laid up. The vendor advises us that the engine benefits from a recent re-bore (to plus 0.020") and will require careful running in. Presented in good condition in all respects, the machine is offered with old-style green continuation logbook, current road fund licence, MoT to March 2005 and Swansea V5 registration document.
