Beschreibung:

1965 MORRIS MINI COOPER S Chassis No. K-A2S4/732224 Engine No. 9-SA-Y/06735 Jet black with dark red roof and cream leather interior Engine: four cylinder, transverse mounted, 1275cc; Gearbox: four speed manual; Suspension: independent front and rear; Brakes: front disc, rear drum. Right hand drive. From the moment the Mini arrived in 1959 it was obvious that Alec Issigonis' brilliant concept of putting an independently sprung wheel at each corner of the car and fitting a transverse engine in unit with the gearbox was going to be an ideal recipe for superlative handling. Coupled with front wheel drive, the little car was an immediate success. All that was needed was more power, which was forthcoming in 1961 when the name of racing car manufacturer John Cooper became associated with the car. Various engine sizes were offered in Mini Coopers over the years and the 1275 'S' was always a desirable option. The Mini found favor with all, from popular singers of the day to film stars and celebritys. Peter Sellers continued a trend by commissioning the London based firm of Harold Radford & Co. to customize his Mini and all four members of The Beatles drove a Mini at some time or other. If you wanted to be seen in Carnaby Street in the swinging sixties, a Mini was the perfect, and only, acceptable car. This example is an original 1275 S Cooper that was first supplied to West London dealers Stewart & Ardern on 5 May 1965. The first UK registration mark was GGJ 382C which it still carries (although there is no UK V5 registration document). It is possible, although it cannot be guaranteed, that this car is one of the rare Radford conversion models as it has a number of features that Stewart & Ardern supplied to Radford for some of his cars such as electric front windows, custom tail lights and folding sunshine roof. The car has been repainted with the attractive color combination of dark red over black. The interior has been updated with cream leather upholstery piped in black, polished walnut dashboard and door trim, center console, sport steering wheel and gear knob and folding sunshine roof. At some stage every car enthusiast should drive a Mini, and a Cooper S is a great car to have fun with.
