With the launch of BSA-Triumph’s ‘oil-in-frame’ range in November 1970, the ‘Tiger’ name was revived for the roadster-styled TR6R, while the TR6C street scrambler version continued to be known as the ‘Trophy’. Effectively a single-carburettor Bonneville, the TR6R was more tractable than the Bonnie and more economical too, giving little away in terms of outright performance, the bike’s standing quarter mile time and top speed being within a whisker of its twin-carb sibling’s. This TR6R was built in the year preceding the start of the workers’ occupation of the Meriden factory. Taxed until August 2007, the machine is offered with owner’s handbook, assorted old tax discs, expired MoTs (x6) for the period 1998-2004, sundry invoices, spare keys, HPI check sheet, Swansea V5C document and MoT to September 2007.
