KTM began as constructors of lightweight mopeds and commuter machines but found that the majority of their reputation rested on their off-road bikes from the ‘70s and ‘80s. Their reputation, built upon the KTM build strength and reliability, ensured a ready market amongst club riders who found that riding a KTM put them within reach of winning. This KTM, a twin-shock Moto-Cross machine, has been on display since 1982 and thus shows none of the deterioration caused when a retired competition off-roader becomes a field-bike for someone. It appears to be in very good condition and will be ready to resume its interrupted career in period MX events. It has no registration documents.
