The Ford Escort is a small family car that was manufactured from 1968 to 2004. The Escort Mk. IV came in early 1986, codenamed within Ford as 'Erika-86' and instantly recognisable as an updated version of the previous model with a smooth style nose and the 'straked' rear lamp clusters smoothed over. Optional new features included a mechanical anti‐lock braking system which was standard on RS Turbo models, a fuel computer on fuel-injected models and a heated windshield. This 1987 example is presented in gleaming ice white having been recently subject to a full re-spray and has the traditional grey velour interior. Having been in storage for a number of years, this example is showing a mere 49,000 miles and after wakening it from hibernation, the vendor has chosen to revitalise the RS Turbo with not only the full re-spray but with a recent swathe of engine work which included timing belt, turbo tuning and a service. Offered with an original sales brochure, work shop manual and a 12 months' MoT test certificate, this desirable and highly appreciating example of a very collectable, fast Ford certainly looks the part.
