Reminiscent of the golden era of the 1960's when the likes ofn Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton and other 'beautiful people' used Minis as a fashion accessoriy. In July 1990 immediately prior to its official re-introduction in September that year, Rover Special Products announced a limited edition of 1000 Mini-Coopers to publicise the model's revival after nearly 20 years out of production. The event occasioned enormous interest, and this initial batch sold out immediately. More luxurious than the subsequent production version, the 'RSP' Mini-Cooper featured a striped bonnet, 'John Cooper' signature, auxiliary driving lamps, glass sunroof, leather trim, red leather-bound steering wheel, tinted glass and alloy wheels. Today this special Mini-Cooper is among the most sought after of Minis. The 464th of these 1,000 limited-edition cars, this example was purchased new John Cooper Garages and acquired by the vendor in December 2002. The car has now covered a total of 24,056 miles as verified by accompanying MoT certificates from 1994 onwards. Finished in red with white roof/bonnet stripes and black part leather interior, it is described by the private lady owner as in excellent condition in every department having a new exhaust, brake pads, tyres and battery and it has recently been serviced. Offered with some service history, road fund license to June 2007, MoT to December 2007.
