Beschreibung:

The acquisition of the rights to the AC name by Autokraft in 1982 led to the development of several prototypes of a next-generation AC to take the place of the venerable Cobra, a process which would, ultimately, lead to the introduction of a new Ace at the 1993 Motor Show. Hand built at AC's Brooklands factory and aimed squarely at the Mercedes-Benz SL market, the new Ace was priced accordingly, starting at over £50,000. A thoroughly modern sportscar in every way, the Ace featured a stainless-steel chassis and was powered by the latest Ford Mustang V8 engine producing around 265bhp. The curvaceous aluminium-alloy body rivalled the original Ace's for looks and was supremely well equipped: an electric hood, air conditioning, heated seats, etc, all forming part of this most luxurious package. Autokraft's demise in 1996 seriously disrupted Ace production, and although the company was re-constituted as AC Cars Group Ltd, only a few more Aces were made before production finally ceased in the late 1990s. Bearing the most appropriate registration mark 'S500 ACE', this car has the distinction of being one of just two supercharged models built, the addition of a 'blower' raising maximum power to around 320-360bhp and elevating its performance to the supercar league. Finished in dark green metallic with cream leather interior, this ultimate Ace is described by the private vendor as in good condition in every respect. Currently in the hands of its third owner, the car has covered just 22,000 miles and benefits from a new supercharger drive belt fitted 1,000 miles ago. Accompanying this rare and exclusive car is its original colour-matched factory hardtop and a valuable package of new spares that includes front shock absorbers, grille, steering rack, radiator, rear lights and indicators, rear cast alloy uprights and rear outer driveshafts. The car comes with service book and owner's manual, current road fund licence/MoT and Swansea V5 registration document.
