Odometer Reading: 18,000 MoT Expiry: 11/01/2020 *Never licenced as a taxi *Unique specification *Luxurious interior Keen taxi spotters will notice this 2006 LTI TX11 doesn't have a traditional roof amber light and with good reason – it has never carried a fare-paying appsenger in its life. A look inside will show the traditional plain, hard-wearing interior has been replaced by something, well, way plusher. The story with this example begins when it was bought new by construction company Sir Robert McAlpine, and was sent to LTI dealer KPM Automotive for a bespoke upgrade which, in the end, cost £12,000. Outside, other than the absence of the taxi light, it's the eye-catching Forest Green that makes this car stand out, while twin gold coachlines add a further subtle tweak. Said to be in superb condition with a couple of bubbles below the back window and stone chips to the front and slight panel rubbing where the driver's door is hinged, it retains a distinguished air. Great attention to detail is clear inside, where the original seating has been replaced by green velour (piped in green), with the rear seat re-worked for unprecedented levels of comfort. The factory-fit folding child seat has been replaced by a large, luxuriant armrest. Underfoot the original floor covering has been replaced by carpet and the rear passenger area has its own Motorola phone (there is also one in the front) as well as air-conditioning and intercom with the driver. The driver's comfort has been considered too, with one-touch electric window, radio, car phone and walnut-effect dashboard surround. Sparing use means to date this LTI has covered around 18,000 miles from new and regular maintenance has ensured it has remained reliable. It was last MoT-tested in November, scoring a first-time pass. Tyres are the originals but the new owner might consider their replacement soon. In all, a fascinating later-generation London cab with low mileage and an interesting past and sensibly estimated.
