THE MOTOR VEHICLE OFFERED
The Little Car Company began in 2019 with a singular purpose — to build officially licensed junior vehicles from great marques such as Bugatti, Aston Martin, and Ferrari that were every bit as good as the full-sized examples. Hand crafted in the United Kingdom, the Bugatti Baby II and Aston Martin DB5 Junior have already taken the motor world by storm. And now comes the newest addition to their offerings — the Ferrari Testa Rossa J.
Officially licensed by Ferrari, the Testa Rossa J is a 75% scale example of the lithe and legendary 250 Testa Rossa. Strictly limited to 299 examples worldwide, the Testa Rossa J is built from original Ferrari Classiche drawings with design oversight from Ferrari's Centro Stile. Each one is made with a hand formed, panel beaten aluminum body — just like the original TR. Finished in white with blue stripes to commemorate "Lucybelle II" — chassis 0732TR, that ran with great success in the 1958 24 Hour of Le Mans in the hands of Ed Hugus and Ernie Erickson — the rich white paint and blue stripes have been applied to the same exacting standards of a new Ferrari. The re-proportioned wire wheels that exactingly match the original's Borrani rims are wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato tires. Power from the 48v electric engine can be delivered at up to 12kW if Race mode — the most aggressive of the four drive modes available — delivering speeds of up to 50mph (80km/h), although this is limited to 19mph (30km/h) in the United States and Canada.
The interior is just as stunning as the exterior. Trimmed in sumptuous red leather from the same tanneries that supply Ferrari for their road cars, the seats are made to match the original TR's down to the white piping. The peddles come from a Ferrari 488 Pista, while the steering wheel is supplied by none other than Nardi, and it is fitted on the world's smallest steering wheel quick release system for easier ingress and egress. Staring out at the dashboard, one's gaze is met with a cluster of functional instruments designed by Manettino and inspired by those on the 812 Superfast.
Commemorated with a plaque on the dashboard denoting it as a "1 of 1 – 2022 Pebble Beach Edition", it is a brand-new car offered here to its first owner. This stunning machine can be driven by adults and children alike. And in case the opportunity to buy a 75% scale Testa Rossa for a small fraction of a percent of the price of the original, The Little Car Company will be donating profits from the sale of this example to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation.
