20th century The first a Takatori ware katatsuki chaire by Motonaga Shoichi, of ovoid form with the brown glaze pooling to green on the squared shoulder, signed Shoichi; the second a Hagi ware katatsuki chaire, of ovoid form, the pale gray glaze shading to rose above the base, signed Kogetsu; the third a katatsuki chaire, of ovoid form with squared shoulder and covered with a temmoku glaze, signed Sadaichi to the base; the fourth a naikai chaire by Rakuto Sadaichi, of compressed globular form covered with a temmoku glaze, signed to base Sadaichi; each chaire with an ivory lid, shifuku, and signed wooden tomobako; together with a plum wood chashaku from the Daizaifu Tenmangu [Shrine], in an associated bamboo receptacle and wooden tomobako. Height of the tallest 3 1/4in (8.2cm)
