Interesting group of correspondence to an old Kennedy family friend. Ted Kennedy writes on August 12, 1969, less than a month after the Chappaquiddick incident: “You were so thoughtful to send me your messages of encouragement during a difficult time. Your loyalty and confidence mean so much to Joan and me.”
