A 19th Century French walnut, marquetry and gilt metal mounted chiffonier, surmounted by a moulded grey variegated marble top with projecting canted angles and shaped divided bevelled mirror panel back, within walnut and boxwood strung surround, having palmette and foliate cresting, the base containing two short drawers with applied foliate scrollwork and laurel wreath ring handles, the cupboard below enclosed by a pair of doors with oval burr veneered panels decorated with ribbon tied baskets of flowers and foliage within chequer banded and inlaid surrounds, flanked by canted angles, headed with guilloche ornament and laurel garlands, having a shaped apron base with further applied foliage, on brass mounted turned tapered legs, terminating in sabots, 137cm (4ft 6in) wide.
