Kentucky Rifle built in Richmond, Virginia by "J. Bolton" circa 1820. Full octagon rifled barrel stamped "BOLTON" with rifle sights. Flintlock with single trigger control. Full curly maple stock with brass hardware including a nicely engraved 4-piece patchbox with leaf finial with Eagle and shield engraved on lid. Stock has 2 silver inlays including Hunter's Star with "XX" engraved in oval on middle. Comes with hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Metal has aged patina with evidence of a reconversion to flint. Brass has dark finish with patchbox lid not fitting flush. Wood has waxed appearance with dark area near tailpipe which could be hiding a repair. Dark bore with sticky mechanics.
