A bound collection of engraved plates, plans and maps taken from Histoire Civile, Eccl�siastique, et Litt�raire de la Ville de Nismes, by L�on M�nard, Paris, 1750-58, fifty-four engraved plates, thirty-four folding, a few browned, occasional handling tears and minor edge-fraying, a number of blank leaves bound in at front, front pastedown with armorial bookplate of Carton Library and shelfmark label above, contemporary marbled calf, scuffed and edge-worn, gilt decorated spine titled 'Planc des Antiq' and 'De Nismes', and with Duke of Leinster's gilt crest above, 4to M�nard's epic work, published in seven volumes, is extremely scarce; we have been unable to trace a complete set sold at auction.
