A BRONZE RITUAL WINE VESSEL, GU SHANG DYNASTY (1600-1100 BC) The slender vessel is cast to the mid-section and lower body with taotie masks on a dense leiwen ground, separated by scored vertical flanges. The upper section is decorated with four stylised cicada blades rising upwards towards the flaring neck. The surface is of a pale greyish-green tone with milky-green malachite encrustations. 10 ¾ in.
