A CALLIGRAPHIC BIFOLIO FROM AN ALBUM OF SULTAN BAYEZID OTTOMAN TURKEY, SECOND HALF 15TH CENTURY Manuscript and gouache on paper with bold panels of calligraphy laid down on buff paper, first folio with many lines of nasta'liq written on a diagonal and bold naskh written horizontally, the verso with 3ll. of bold thuluth interspersed with smaller lines of naskh and small verses of nasta'liq , the recto of the second foilo with one large panel with mirror composition of naskh finely outlined in white against black ground, within an orange frame, another smaller panel with white thuluth on similarly outlined black ground, verses of nasta'liq written on the diagonal to one side, verso with large panel with 3ll. of bold white and white outlined thuluth on similar ground, further three lines written on a diagonal, further more minor lines of naskh and nasta'liq around, the name of Bayezid on one folio, minor scuffing and creasing FOLIO 15¼ X 11½IN. (38.8 X 29.1CM.)
