Property from a Private CollectionA Charles II oak panel-back settlecirca 1670 with a fluted cresting rail surmounting six panels, the boarded box base with a hinged top over a divided compartment 136cm. high, 120cm. wide, 51cm. deep; 4ft. 5½in., 3ft. 11¼in., 1ft. 8in.Condition ReportAttractive colour and patination. It is possible that this was constructed in the 17th century utilising architectural panelling, this gives it great charm. Large butterfly hinges possibly later to hinged seat. Typical wear to elements throughout, again this wear demonstrates age. Patch possibly to a former lock site. Small section of later inset timber from an old repair at right proper armrest where it meets the box base. Historic worm no longer active. An atmospheric piece. Condition 11 of the Conditions of Business for Buyers (Online Only) is not applicable to this lot. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The
