It is possible that this was constructed in the 17th century utilising architectural panelling, this gives it great charm. Large butterfly hinges possibly later to hinged seat. Typical wear to elements throughout, again this wear demonstrates age. Patch possibly to a former lock site. Small section of later inset timber from an old repair at right proper armrest where it meets the box base. Historic worm no longer active. An atmospheric piece.
