Provenance : Antonio-Antimo Damugliano, or Anthonios Damoulianos, was born in Zakynthos in the mid-17th century. He studied medicine in Europe and travelled extensively throughout Asia, the Middle East, northern Africa and Russia. He was for a time in the employ of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI (1685-1740), and was honoured for his services in tackling the spread of epidemics. 229 x 163mm. i + 7 + iv, complete. 14 lines, ruled space: 145 x 85mm. One full-page miniature of the Lion of Venice with the coat of arms of Doge Giovanni II Cornaro (1647-1722), each page with full border (marginal holes to f.1, edges sometimes frayed.
