Ricasso with maker's markings W. Walscheid/Solingen. Nickeled brass hilt of British 1822 pattern, the guard with unusual cut-out of Federal eagle over US Grey shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. Nickel-plated two-ring scabbard. Condition: Blade showing light spotting and a few small nicks to edge. Guard retaining perhaps 40% of plated finish. Grip with minor scuffing, the wire slightly loose. Scabbard with dark patina and scattered dents. See Illustration
