Items include postcards, coupon books, numerous medallions and pins, a collection of Japanese art plates and more. The Panama-Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) was a world's fair held in San Francisco between February 20 and December 4 in 1915. Its ostensible purpose was to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal, but it was widely seen as an opportunity for the city to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake. Includes: Three ornate souvenir spoons. Two commemorative coins. Three unique commemorative pendants. Ashtray featuring a relief of the Tower of Jewels. Miniature pan-shaped souvenir. A collection of postcard's from San Diego's Panama-California Exposition. Three coupon books - two with photographs of the attendees, one with all coupons still intact. National Union Life Insurance card with fair calendar. Two handwritten postcards from fair attendees, one with an image of the Court of Flowers Tower. A selection of 12 commemorative pins and medals housed in a decorative Cardinet's Fair State Chocolates box. A commemorative wooden ruler from San Francisco's Hotel Argonaut. A selection of artistic plates from the Japanese Temples and Their Treasures portfolios edited by the Imperial Japanese Commission to the Panama -Pacific International Exposition. 52 plates in all, 10 color, one folding.
