A DUTCH WALNUT BURR-WALNUT AND FRUITWOOD MARQUETRY SECRETAIRE EN PENTE A DOS D'ANE ATTRIBUTED TO MATTHIJS HORRIX CIRCA 1765-1770 The waved top inlaid with a monogram medallion HGL , above a hinged slope inlaid with scrolling strapwork framing a trellis-parquetry panel centred by a fan shaped panel inlaid with a flowering basket, the reverse lined with a green leather writing surface, enclosing a fitted interior with three drawers, inlaid with foliage and drapery, above two wells, the sides and apron inlaid with a ribbon-tied rope-twist band centred by an oval with a shel motif, on cabriole legs headed by pierced foliate mounts and terminating in pierced foliate sabots 93 cm. high x 84 cm. wide x 48 cm. deep
