A Famille Rose Altar Vase, of archaic bronze form, the flared neck above a globular center section supported on a bell-shaped foot, finely painted with the 'Eight Buddhist Emblems' amidst colourful leafy lotus between stiff plantain leaf and lotus bands and ruyi borders at the rim and at the top of the foot, the base of the neck with a six-character seal mark in a line in iron-red, Jiaqing mark and of the period (1796-1820), height c. 26.5 cm; minor nick, cracks Compare with similar vases, Sotheby's, New York, 20 March, 2012, lot 92 PROVENANCE: Purchased during early 19th century by merchant Grönberg at Gideonsberg mansion, Västerås, thence by descent.
