A fine French brass armillary sphere, unsigned , but in the style of Charles Dien, with brass sunball and small brass earth ball on geared arm, the central rod with ten curved arms with brass planet and moon discs for MERCURE, VENUS, MARS, PALLAS, JUNON, CÉRES, VESTA, JUPITER, URANUS and PLUTON , with brass solstitial and equinoctial colure rings, the former with stamped graduations 0-23 at the North and South Poles ( the latter split at North Pole ), held in a stamped brass horizon ring graduated in degrees, days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, with four brass quadrant supports to stepped square section green malachite plinth base -- 23¼in.
