A FINE GEORGE IV SILVER-GILT SALVER MARK OF EDWARD BARTON LONDON, 1824 Shaped circular, on four acanthus leaf and dolphin feet, the applied border cast with four scenes between male and female bacchic and harvest masks, the scenes depicting hounds hunting a stag, a bacchanalian scene, a youth spearing a wild boar, and Narcissus gazing at his reflection, the field engraved with neo-rococo scrolls and foliage surrounding Royal arms, the reverse with later presentation inscription dated 1906, marked on field and rim 26 in. (66 cm. ) diameter; 272 oz. 10 dwt. (8,478 gr.)
