A FINE GEORGE IV SILVER-GILT TANKARD MARK OF PHILIP RUNDELL LONDON, 1820 Cylindrical, the foot chased with a band of rosettes, the lower body with scrolling foliage frieze incorporating leopards and putti, the upper body cast and chased with a scene of the Triumph of Bacchus including Bacchus reclining on a chariot drawn by two horses and Persephone on a second chariot drawn by leopards on a matted ground, the hinged cover with a palmette thumbpiece and a finial cast as a crest, with a leaf-capped scroll handle, marked near handle, inside cover, finial and nut, the foot engraved 'RUNDELL BRIDGE ET RUNDELL AURIFICES REGIS LONDINI' 13 in. (33 cm.) high; 135 oz. 10 dwt. (4,210 gr.)
