A FINELY CARVED CELADON JADE RUYI 18TH CENTURY The ruyi head exceptionally well carved in relief with a landscape scene of Shoulao and his deer beneath a gnarled pine tree growing from a rocky terrain, with a bat in flight among swirling clouds, one side of the curved handle naturalistically carved with a fruiting and flowering peach branch, above a spray of narcissus growing beside lingzhi fungus, the backside of the handle incised with bats amidst swirling lingzhi -shaped clouds, the semi-translucent stone a mottled celadon colour with small areas of amber inclusions 16 in. (40.7 cm.) long
