A French gilt-bronze four face mantle clock Print Second half 19th century, maker Jean Vincenti et Cie, the twin-train movement stamped ''Made in France'' and with Vincenti et Cie 1855 Medaille d'Argent seal, within an urn-topped rectangular gilt-bronze case adorned with a foliate margent to each squared-off corner, each face centering a differently functioning circular face, the first: a white enamel clock face with applied black Arabic numeral hour markers and minute indices within a beveled glazed hinged bezel; the second: arched Centigrade and Fahrenheit thermometers mounted to a white enamel and black and gold-toned applied backing; the third: a white enamel aneroid barometer with applied black text and indices beneath a beveled glazed bezel inset within a hinged door enclosing the inner works; the fourth: a hand-painted calendar with adjustable date, month and day of the week, raised overall on an acanthus-cast base, on toupie feet, 9.5'' H x 5.75'' W x 5.5'' D, Provenance: Private Collection, Montecito, CA. Condition: Overall good condition. General marks, scratches, rubbed wear and darkening to gilt bronze commensurate with age. Clock face with a .5'' x .25'' chip to enamel near 4 o'clock hour marker; lacking three adjacent minute indices. Scattered spots of minor touch-up to blue enamel on calendar face. Lacking key; does not run. Moran's does not guarantee working condition of clocks or other mechanical items.
