Beschreibung:

A GEORGE II MAHOGANY PARTNER'S PEDESTAL DESK CIRCA 1750 With tooled leather inset top 79cm high, 136cm wide, 89cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old splits, chips and some small losses. Tooled leather inset top appears to be a 19th century replacement. It bears the expected wear, marks, creases and discolourations. Old veneer and moulding repairs - see images. Fading to timber in areas. Handles and escutcheons are old replacements and suit the piece well. The handle use the same holes as original examples. Locks are possibly original. A key is present and operates all locks. Feet appear to have had approximately an inch added to the bottoms in order for later porcelain castors to be added to the blocks at the backs of the feet. The veneer of the additional elements is well matched and is only visible upon close inspection. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition. Condition Report Disclaimer
