A GEORGE II SILVER KETTLE-STAND MARK OF PEZE PILLEAU, LONDON, 1740 Triangular and on three hairy paw feet, with foliage and shell decorated border, engraved with shells and foliage scrolls centring an engraved coat-of-arms, marked underneath 9¾ in. (25 cm.) wide 23 oz. (706 gr.) The arms are those of those of Macdonald impaling Montgomerie, for Lady Margaret Macdonald (d.1799), widow of Sir Alexander Macdonald 14th of Sleat and 7th Bt. (1711-1746), ninth daughter of Alexander, 9th Earl of Eglington (d.1729).
