A GEORGE IV SILVER MEAT-DISH AND A GEORGE IV SILVER-MOUNTED OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE COVER FROM THE SAMPAIO SERVICE THE DISH AND COVER MOUNTS PAUL STORR LONDON, 1822 AND 1823 Oval with shell, acanthus and gadrooned border, the cover with silver handle and applied on each side with a silver coat-of-arms below a baron's coronet, the dish similarly engraved, marked on dish, handle, arms and coronets the dish 11 1/8 in. (28.2 cm.) wide the dish 23 oz. 16 dwt. (741 gr.) The arms are those of Teixeira quartering Sampaio, Amaral and Guedes for Henrique Teixeira de Sampaio, Barao de Teixeira, later 1st Conde de Póvoa (1774-1833). (2)
