A German Close-Helmet Of 'Maximilian' Type Circa 1510, probably Innsbruck Of bright steel, with rounded fluted one-piece skull (old patched repair to bottom right edge), and neck-guard of three articulated plates, pierced with three holes at the crown and two holes on the neck-guard for lining-points, and encircled with lining-rivets (some missing), and bellows visor and bevor pivoted at the same points on either side (pivots replaced), the former with horizontal slits for sights and breaths (hole for the original locking-catch on the right filled with a rivet), the bevor (upper ends riveted replacements) shaped to the chin and neck with a pivot-hook and pierced pin locking-catch (replaced) on the right, the lower edge with wide shallow recessed border over a hollow half-turn (skull and visor each with small hole, shallow rust pitting over its entire surface) 10in.
