A GERMAN FLINTLOCK SPORTING GUN with two-stage sighted barrel (fore-sight missing) struck at the breech with brass-lined barrelsmith's mark (Neue Støckel 7580) and four small decorative marks, pierced brass saddle back-sight, plain flat bevelled lock with stepped tail, moulded figured walnut half-stock (broken and chipped at the grip, butt wormed, fore-end cap missing), iron mounts including lightly chiselled butt-cap (tang loose), and trigger-guard with foliate finials, iron barrel-band pierced with a rosette, and boldly turned beaded ramod-pipes (ramrod missing), by Johann Valentin Heibach, early 18th Century 42½in. barrel [E.348, S.3
