A GERMAN MILITARY BROADSWORD CIRCA 1600-30 With near-flat double-edged blade coming to a spear point, cut with an orb mark within the short fuller on one side below the hilt and with running wolf mark on the other, recessed ricasso, strongly formed russet-iron hilt of faceted bars, comprising long straight quillons with swelling tips, two outer ring-guards each swelling in the middle, the smaller carried by a pair of arms, inner saltire-guard of slender bars incorporating a thumb-ring, tall faceted pommel, and early spirally moulded grip bound with a pattern of brass ribbon and wire (binding with minor damage) 36 7/8in (93.7cm) blade
