A good Victorian lacquered brass

A good Victorian lacquered brass monocular microscope, originally owned by civil engineer Charles Neate (1821-1911), with original walnut cased set of acromatic object glasses for microscopes and other accessories, signed on the microscope and many of the lens cases, microscope height 59cm £800-1,200 Charles Neate (1806–1879) was an English politician and academic, economist and political writer. Condition: Microscope rather dirty and oxidised with scattered scratches throughout, circular platform equally scuffed and oxidised, both sides of the mirror with oxidised lines, apparently un-numbered, comes with its original wooden stand. Walnut cased set of accessories in very good condition with rich outer colouring and original working key, comes with numerous numbered and named lenses, and various other accessories, most of which have fittings within the case but some are a little loose, in addition there are some empty apertures presumably where items have been lost, base drawer has fittings for slides and various further accessories, case width 42cm depth 28cm height 17cm
