A Good WW2 Royal Naval Album; Eastern Mediterrean Sea 1941-1943 Oblong folio 33 x 26cm, string bound with thick card boards containing approx. 300 Silver gelatin snapshot prints with a small selection of carte postale toward the back. Image sizes, 21 x 16cm (largest) 8.5 x 6cm (smallest) covering a wide array of activities in the Eastern Mediterrean Sea 1941-43, subjects including the sinking of SS. Arucas and the taking of German survivors aboard HMS York, the Siege of Tobruk, Fleet Exercises, The Malta Convoy engagements and the sinking of many ships as part of Operation Pedestal, which was responsible for resupplying of Malta, a strategic british base in this theatre, amidst intense naval and air attacks. Also including, interesting scenes showing the landing of german paratroopers in Suda Bay Crete. Some scenes of Naval life off duty, sport clubs and socials, scenes in North Africa, Sierra Leone, Egypt, Suez Canal and Malta.
