London Gazette 3 June 1918, details London Gazette 21 October 1918: ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty while in command of the battalion runners, when he did excellent work, especially on one occasion, when he organised the runners and carried several messages through very heavy shell fire.’ Lance-Corporal Sadd was a native of Norwich and won his D.C.M. in France.
