A Great War M.M. group of seven awarded to Private H. R. Plested, 1st Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment Military Medal, G.V.R. (9862 Pte., 1/R. Berks. R.); 1914 Star, with clasp (9862 Pte., 1/R. Berks. R.); British War and Victory Medals (9862 Pte., R. Berks. R.); France and Germany Star; Defence and War Medals, these unnamed, mounted as worn; together with medals awarded to his son: 1939-45 Star; Burma Star; Defence and War Medals, these unnamed, good fine and better (12) £420-460 Footnote M.M. London Gazette 20 October 1916. Private Herbert R. Plested, 1st Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 13 August 1914. Later in the Great War he served in the Royal Air Force. With copied m.i.c. Additionally sold with a crown coin, 1981, commemorating the wedding of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer.
