Beschreibung:

A group of Indian and Thai silver items, 19th/early 20th century. Comprising an unusual group of seven Indian miniature solid cast silver Hindu deities, India, 19th century. Comprising Krishna standing, playing the flute, two depictions of Krishna crawling as an infant, two depictions of Hanuman the monkey god and hero of the Ramayana, the goddess Saraswati playing a sitar together with another deity, possibly depicting Vishnu together with two Indian partially gilt silver Krishna shrine altar peacocks, South Indian, late 19th century, both with swivelling heads, ruby coloured glass eyes and with engraved and pierced decoration and a silver 'Toh' altar offering dish, early 20th century. Of typical tazza form with a petal shaped border, knopped stem and flared foot and decorated with pierced and engraved foliage and flowers. Bearing Chinese makers marks beneath. Probably produced by a localised Chinese silversmith working in Thailand. (10 items) Miniatures: 1.8in (4.6 cm) height of tallest. Weight: 92 grams. Peacocks: 4.7 in (11.9 cm) height. 4.1 in (10.5 cm) height. Toh dish: 2.4 in (6.2 cm) height, 4.6 in (11.6 cm) diameter.
